Is It Still Worth Buying a Fujifilm 50MP Medium Format Camera?

The platform software provides a full WYSIWYG user interface when editing online, with various options for formatting provided as the user edits over rich text format. Medium is one of the most popular publishing platforms on the Internet. And when you stop and evaluate Medium and what it offers as a platform, it is easy to see why.

You can also utilize the ridiculously priced EVF-TL1 tilt adapter that allows you to use the viewfinder in an upright vertical position or even from side to side. You need to be $570 USD desperate for that privilege, though, so I suspect that this will only appeal to those who have gotten accustomed to shooting in this position in the past. There is no question that the image quality from the GFX100 II is exceptional, but is Fuji succeeding in making its larger format a legitimate competitor to full frame cameras? To start with, you will need to slow down quite a bit when taking your photos. The photography experience with this camera totally immerses you in the process. So, if you are someone who’s impatient, or needs to be very quick with their work, the 500C/M may not be the right camera for you.

Medium and Substack may serve an overlapping user base, but the actual offering of each platform are quite unique. Medium allows bloggers to easily create, publish and monetize their blog. Substack allows users to create a subscription-based email newsletter and charge readers for access to this content. Learn more about the differences between Medium and Substack. Medium is one of the most popular blogging and digital publishing platforms on the Internet.

What is more, you can find a lot of useful things yourself. Medium offers a wide array of topics to choose from and most of the articles are well written with great insights about whatever you want to learn about. QuickBooks Backing is a smooth, exceptional and strong accounting programming that fulfils the premium of all confidential endeavours through upgrading all records in climbing demands. Medium has a rating of 2.7 stars from 37 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Let’s take a look at how Brunch diversified the layouts for the contents on their home feed. They are aesthetically pleasing to look at while actively promoting what’s inside.

I personally didn’t love the body of the GFX100, as I found it unnecessarily large. It had the chunkiest grip of any camera I’ve used (the camera is 102.9mm/4.05″ deep), and while I have medium large hands, it felt just slightly uncomfortable – like I was having to stretch a bit. The depth of grip here isn’t radically different (98.6mm or 3.9″), but that little change along with the better executed contours of the grip add up to a much more comfortable grip. The body is roughly 152mm wide and 117.4mm tall (6 x 4.6″) and weighs a manageable 1030g with memory cards and battery inserted. This makes it visibly larger than the “S” bodies, but not radically so. The cropped medium format sensor gives you another image then the full format sensor of a leica or a sony.

Medium has published a couple articles on article formatting, but many are useless to new writers. These articles are typically outdated, lack proper visuals to demonstrate how to use various features, and even if there is quality information, it is usually trading guide distributed across a seemingly random array of articles. Medium writer earnings range from $0 per month to over $40,000 per month. However, these top earning writers usually have massive followings on the platform or consistently write viral content.

Good dynamic range gives you tremendous flexibility for processing images. In the case below, a very strong backlighting meant that I had to choose between exposing for my subject or for the background. I chose the background, and then used the AI masking feature in Lightroom to grab my subject and increase the exposure and shadow recovery on him. You can see the shadows are raised a bit more, but things continue to look pretty clean overall. I actually really like the look of ISO 12,800 images in one of Fuji’s monochrome simulations.

Whether you are a writer who is considering creating a Medium account, or you are an experienced blogger who is debating exploring other platforms, Medium has a lot to offer. Medium’s engineers and designers have spent a lot of time developing fonts, page layouts, and formatting features which all display beautifully, on any size screen. If you want a comprehensive list Immediate-Intal of all publications created, Smedian and TopPub. Both of these platforms list and organize Medium publications. If you are looking for a filtered list of actively run publications, whose editors won’t waste your time, I would suggest checking out Active Publications. Active Publications is a compilation of active Medium publications accepting article submissions.

On the other hand, if beautiful image quality, precision, and a dependable body are what you look for, you cannot miss the Hasselblad 500C/M. The standard Hasselblad 500C/M was shipped with the waist-level viewfinder. The viewfinder is bright and large which makes composing the images so much easier. It is also important to note that when using this viewfinder, the images appear flipped. If you’re new to this, it can take some time to get used to.

Another issue is that The Medium’s main creature is scary, but is also the only real threat in the entire game. That lack of a threat, combined with the simplistic puzzle design, makes too much of the game a bore. There’s essentially no-combat at all, outside of some areas that have you burning ghost moths with spirit energy. This means a lot of time is spent running around larger-than-necessary levels, with no threat of death or failure, trying to desperately find the one small item needed to press forward. Often, any feelings of fear quickly turned to frustration and boredom as I searched around maze-like areas looking for a valve or small piece of paper.

All told, however, there are a lot of positive steps in the right direction here. You don’t have to attach it if you aren’t really a viewfinder person, but it would be a mistake to not use it. It has a massive 9.44 million dots of resolution along with an amazing 1.0x magnification. It looks like a movie screen in there, and is more engaging than any viewfinder I’ve ever used. My Sony Alpha 1 has an identical resolution spec, but the two viewfinders just don’t compare.

This company is full of lunatics, and their website is the most hateful platform on the entire internet. Medium format comes with tradeoffs (gear is large and expensive), but when you are processing and reviewing images taken with a camera like the GFX100 II, you can’t help but wonder, “What if? Check out more images in the image gallery for the 55mm F1.7 to see more examples.

Gary McIntyre is a landscape photographer and digital artist based on the west coast of Scotland. As well as running photography workshops in the Glencoe region, providing online editing workshops, Gary also teaches photography and image editing at Ayrshire college. Many images below were photographed using the FUJIFILM GF 20-35mm f/4 R WR lens, and others with the FUJIFILM GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR Lens. Both lenses, as expected, complemented the system and performed admirably in all situations. The Fujifilm GFX100 II might just be out of reach for a lot of us financially at the moment but it certainly sets the bar high in terms of image and detail-gathering quality, so perhaps a future investment and something to save for.

I got a 1/40th of second shutter speed shooting at ISO 12,800 and using an F1.7 lens (the fastest maximum aperture currently available on the system). My experience is that the slightly front focused result is the more typical result. If you come across a situation where you’d want to switch to a different film midway through, that’s possible too with the camera’s modular design. If you have an extra film back, you can replace it without even having to take the film out first. However, keep in mind that you’ll need to use the dark slide to protect the unexposed film. Personally, I ended up finding the slower shooting experience an unexpected benefit of this system.
